Qween City is thrilled to be highlighting the city & region’s myriad artisan makers this holiday season. If you would like to be highlighted in the Craftiste directory, please shoot an email to [email protected].
How long have you been an artisan & business owner in Buffalo?
Since 2012
Where are you located in the city / region?
You can find lots of purses, scarves and other cool stuff in the curiosity shop at 125 Art Collective. Personally I’m an eastsider now, originally from Sloan.
Have you operated elsewhere?
Response has been picking up and lots of amazing events have let me come show my pieces. I had a table at Rock A Mile in Her Shoes at Babeville, have set up at metal shows, plus I do tons of craft shows. I post where I’ll be so hit that follow button!
Please describe your work / product; if applicable, please include your artist / personal statement or mission.
I make purses and jewelry from vinyl records. I collect vinyl records and would always come across damaged ones. I am very proud to give the records new life. I work with many other materials — aluminum cans, vintage coins, and metal stamping blanks, as well. I’m a record collector and a Bills fan, so you’ll see that reflected in the materials I pick to work from.
Who are some of your favorite artisans / makers in the region?
Anyone who up-cycles is inspiring to me.
Where will you be representing your wares this holiday season?
