Cindy Young || Sew Buffalo

Qween City is thrilled to be highlighting the city & region’s myriad artisan makers this holiday season. If you would like to be highlighted in the Craftiste directory, please shoot an email to [email protected].

How long have you been an artisan & business owner in Buffalo?

I started my business as a hobby about 5 years ago after retiring, but have been a registered business for about 3 years.

Where are you located in the city / region?

I have no physical storefront but work out of my home in North Buffalo.

Please describe your work / product; if applicable, please include your artist / personal statement or mission.

I applique my original Buffalo design on various soft textiles eg. towels, table linens, blankets, baby bibs, and other household textiles.

I enjoy sewing and creating Buffalo designs hopefully for others to enjoy or to use as gifts or just for love of the city.

Who are some of your favorite artisans / makers in the region?

Buffalo is so full of very creative and wonderful artists and artisans that I find it impossible to have a favorite. I am awed by the rich talent around.

Where will you be representing your wares this holiday season?

My work is available in several stores, Thin Ice, Village ARTisans, The Burchfield Penney gift store, the Buffalo History Museum, and I will be present this season at Amherst High School craft show, Christmas at the Castle, Buffalo Women’s Gifts, Heim craft show, UUCB, and Ellicott Square lunch time show in December.
