Who are some of your favorite artisans / makers in the region? Who amongst your peers inspires your work?
Currently, I am most inspired by the farmers and artisans I spent the summer and fall with vending at the Lockport Community Farmers Market. The tenacity it takes to show up each week, regardless of the weather is admirable. Especially, the senior farmers and artisans. And there are quite a few. Having transitioned to tea in mid-life, I hold great hope for my perseverance and success because I have watched the discipline of the senior business owners, and have taken their advice to heart. Truly, it is never too late to go after your dream.
How long have you been a business owner in WNY?
I have been in the tea apothecary business for 2 years, centered in Williamsville, NY.
How long have you been a part of Buffalo Women’s Gifts?
I participated in one Women’s Gifts show about 5 years ago, with offerings from my long time floral design career. This is my first lucky opportunity with my tea business.
Where can people see / purchase your work year-round?
Year round The Soul In Bloom is located inside a small women’s cooperative at 5655 Main St., #3, in Williamsville, NY 14221, at the year round Lockport Community Farmers Market, pop-up events throughout Western NY and online in my Etsy shop – thesoulinbloom.etsy.com.
Where else will you be representing your wares this holiday season?
The 2019 holiday shopping season will find my tea represented at the Lockport Community Farmers Market at Harrison Place in Lockport, at Horsefeathers Community Market, at Alchemy Wine and Beer Holiday pop-up in Hamburg, NY, and at the Buffalo Women’s Consortium holiday pop-up in Buffalo, NY on December 6.
