Janna Willoughby-Lohr || Papercraft Miracles

Qween City is thrilled to be highlighting the city & region’s myriad artisan makers this holiday season. If you would like to be highlighted in the Craftiste directory, please shoot an email to [email protected].

How long have you been an artisan & business owner in Buffalo?

I officially started my business in 2013.

Where are you located in the city / region?

Black Rock

Do you have a physical storefront? If so, what is the address?

I don’t have a public shop right this minute but I am in the process of renovations to my brand new storefront and hope to be in the new space and running by late Spring 2018. The address is 1888 Niagara St. in the heart of historic Black Rock.

Have you operated elsewhere?

I did some work in college in Asheville, NC, but I have been a loyal Buffalonian all my life.

Please describe your work / product; if applicable, please include your artist / personal statement or mission.

I create handmade paper and books for everyday use and special occasions.

There’s just something about handling paper that sends me to the moon and brings me back to earth at the same time. That feeling is miraculous to me. I aim to instill that sense of wonder into every piece I create because we could all use a little miracle now and then.

Who are some of your favorite artisans / makers in the region?

Ooh! There are so many!

Sarah Cozzemera (Everyday Earthware), Amy Duengfelder, Olden Designs, Maude White, Scott Kristopher, and all the artisans at ShopCraft (to just name a few)!

Where will you be representing your wares this holiday season?

Papercraft Miracles will be available at Buffalo Women’s Gifts on Sat. Nov 25 from 10-4pm at Babeville (341 Delaware Ave) and at the Western New York Book Arts Center’s Last Minute Panic Holiday Marketplace Friday Dec 15 4-8pm & Sat Dec 16 from 11-5pm (468 Washington St @ Mohawk St.).

My work is also available at all times at ShopCraft Buffalo inside of Thin Ice gift shop at 719 Elmwood Ave at Breckenridge.

If there’s anything else you’d like to include, please feel free to do so below!

I am currently on maternity leave until mid-December. I still have a few spots left for custom holiday orders but they must be placed ASAP in order to guarantee completion by the holidays.
